Family Farm School
Presley May Farm School isn’t a sit-down, worksheet-type of program. Our days are active, outdoors, and led by the children themselves.
Kids learn by doing, they care for animals, dig in the dirt, carry feed buckets, climb, build, create, explore, and play for long stretches of time. Learning happens in motion, in conversation, and in real world moments. We don’t pull kids out of play to “teach” them; we step into it with them. Our approach is completely child-led. We give children trust, responsibility, we set up invitations, offer experiences, notice interests, and follow where the children naturally go. Sometimes that looks like helping feed a goat. Sometimes it’s turning over rocks and asking why something looks the way it does. Sometimes it’s making art from whatever the land offers that day.
Play is not a break from learning here; it’s how learning happens.
This is how kids build confidence in their bodies and decisions. They learn how to trust themselves, work through frustration, take appropriate risks, and most importantly, stay curious. The nervous system gets what it needs too! Movement, fresh air, animals, and unhurried time help children feel regulated, grounded, and safe enough to explore.
This can look messy, loud, quiet, wild, or deeply focused. It doesn’t always look “productive” from the outside,
but it’s
real
and its
meaningful.
If you’re looking for a traditional setting, we may not be the right fit. If you believe children learn best through connection, movement, and hands-on experience, you’ll feel right at home here.
